Tall Tales were introduced with the Anniversary Update on 30 April, 2019. The first nine Tall Tales comprised the story of the quest for the Shores of Gold, a new island hidden in the Devil's Shroud. Tall Tales provide an alternative to the normal adventures provided by the four trading companies in Adventure mode. Tall Tale voyages consist of many puzzles and are heavily lore based. Before the Anniversary Update, Sea of Thieves was quite light on, within the game, for lore. Tall Tales fill that need.
These pages provide a guide to the Tall Tales. I have tried to avoid a simple walkthrough format that leads you, by the hand, through each tale. Instead, this guide that offers increasingly helpful hints for each puzzle or challenge, allowing you to choose how much help you get. Each Tall Tale also has a number of journals scattered around the world for you to find, to earn additional commendations and doubloons. This guide will help you find those too.
This is a work in progress. It will take time to cover every Tall Tale, and even longer to cover every variation of every puzzle within them.
